  1. I am looking for a picture of Woolston’s Esso Station that was on the corner of Howard and Main. Please dig into those shoe boxes to see if you can help me.

  2. Hello and thank you for all the wonderful photographs and information about Riverton. So interesting. I was born in 1952 at 518 Main Street in Riverton and lived there until 1958 when when relocated to Long Beach Island. I’ve always found myself digging through the internet trying to find out about my family & the house (photos, ect) My greatest interest in information about my great-grandfather George W Bishop who built 518 Main St house. According to the census he was a Constable. Any help locating photos or information about him or the house?

Re: Keating’s Drug Store. My Grandfather, Edgar Miller, and I visited Keatings regularly to get a newspaper and Coke or Take-A-Boost most every Saturday in the 1950s. Mr. Keating also owned a store across the street that sold periodicals in the front and had a pool hall in the back. Mr and Mrs. Keating lived above that store. Re: Sharon’s Sweet Shop. When I was a youngster in the mid 50’s Sharon’s was owned by a lady named Helen, who lived in the back of the sweet shop. I practically lived there as a kid eating subs and drinking coke. Helen eventually put me to work in the evenings dipping ice cream, making milkshakes and catering to the little leaguers who came in after their games in the spring and summer months. Sharons Sweet Shop, Keating’s Drug Store and the Riverton Yacht Club….my favorite places during my pre-teen years.
