Hello I have a gun club shooting award for a William David may 8th 1901 looks like a serving tray bronze I guess due to age not being polished willing to let go for a little fee.i am more interested in finding out who this gentleman was.
Hi, Eduardo – I just skimmed the 1906 Riverton Gun Club History Book. I don’t think he was a member, as there are small labeled pix for all of them. There is an entry for a May 8, 1901 shoot, but note spelling of W.J.Davis, not David. Are you sure the trophy is for Riverton Gun Club? Please send a photo on a plain background if you can. Will try to help, but I am on a deadline for publishing a newsletter. – John McCormick
Hello John,
I have a trophy that was awarded to my great-great grandfather. I will attempt to include a picture, but wonder if you could confirm this for me that it is your gun club.
Inscription reads:
Riverton Gun Club
Presented by
Howard Bucknell
October 15, 1902
won by
J.H. Davis
I wonder if the Davis mentioned above may also be my relative as they share the same last name!
THank you,
Joyce King
Hi, Joyce – found your ggggranddad pictured in the Riverton Gun Club History Book. Sent you a separate email with more info.
Hope this helps
John
