two-ounce metal object

The metal object, weighing just 2 ounces and bearing red crayon markings “The New Bridge” (hand-written by my Dad when he was 8 years old), was picked up by my Dad while walking across the Delaware River Bridge on July 1, 1926. Dad was accompanied by his mother Emma, his step-father Charles and step-sister Anne. My father had saved this piece of history in his dresser drawer and presented it to me some 56 years later on August 19, 1982. This coincided with the re-enactment walk that he and I also made when we walked across the bridge from Camden to Philadelphia on the same date. It was a wonderful moment in time for both of us
