This is all very interesting. Does anyone here know anything about the parents of John Jernee (a carpenter who moved to Kentucky) or his sister Margaret (who married William Gale Breene and moved to Dayton, Ohio), both born circa 1820 in New Jersey? I know a bit about both of them, but really would like to learn more about their parents, ancestry etc.
My family from Pittsburgh stayed in Jernee Manor – Apartment A the last two weeks of August every year from 1956 to around 1986. Awesome memories. I have post cards of the front and the parking lot from the early 70’s. Captain Jack and Mrs Jernee both looked like they were 100 years old from the salt water exposure (I guess). Captain Jack was quite grouchy but Mrs. Jernee was very pleasant. Jeff in Atlanta
Interested in early Jernee family and history, I am “long lost” family member, thank you!
